PORTLAND - Oregon's historic Vista House in the Columbia River Gorge has reopened after viaduct repairs and construction.
The highway from Larch Mountain Road to Latourell Falls and to Bridal Veil Falls was closed since last fall.
Crews needed to restore the 600-foot Crown Point viaduct and supporting columns that encircle the building.
A second phase of work will be done from April 1, until late spring.
The Historic Columbia River Highway opened in 1916, followed by the Vista House in 1918.
