GRESHAM, Ore. -- A Gresham man who vanished after leaving town en route to Seattle on Feb. 19 has been found safe.

Police had said that 76-year-old Gary Gochnour could suffer from dementia. Friends and family were concerned for his well-being.

On Wednesday, Gresham police said he had been found safe in Seattle.

Gochnour was reportedly planning to move to Seattle to live with his sister. He rented a U-Haul truck with the Arizona license plate number, AE80457 on February 19th but never returned it.

Family members said it turns out, Gochnour was in Seattle, with the U-Haul truck, for several days and had been looking for a home to rent.

Gresham Police asked anyone with information about Gochnour’s whereabouts to call the department’s tip-line at (503) 618-2719.
