GRESHAM, Ore. – Police hope will someone can help find the man caught on surveillance camera robbing a Gresham bank.

The Key Bank, at 1532 NE 181st Avenue, was robbed just before 12:30 p.m., Monday.

Authorities said a man presented a demand note that said he was armed and ordered the teller to put money into a black Jansport backpack.

During the investigation, detectives learned that the suspect got a drink at a coffee stand just before the robbery and told the clerk he was from Wisconsin and in town visiting friends.

Witnesses said after the bank robbery, the suspect fled between buildings located east of 181st Avenue.

No suspect car was seen, but detectives believe he did use a vehicle at some time during his escape, according to Sgt Claudio Grandjean with the Gresham Police Department.

The suspect was described as 6-foot-three-inches tall with a thin build and brown hair. He was wearing a very distinctive logo on his sweatshirt, which the camera also clearly captured.

Anyone with information that may help investigators was asked to call detective Tony Cobb at 503.618.2365 or 911.
