GRESHAM, Ore. – Police identified a suspect Friday in a Gresham jewelry story theft where a diamond ring valued at over $13,000 was stolen earlier this week.
Officers are looking for 22-year-old Gabriel McAdams of Happy Valley, Ore. after they say he reached across the counter and grabbed the ring as the owner looked away.
The store owner said a man posing as a customer asked to see the ring and then was left alone near it briefly as another customer needed assistance.
The ring, made of white gold and containing a one-carat diamond, was on display at Springwater Jewelers located at 35 E. Powell Blvd.
The suspect was described as a white male, medium build with a dark complexion, short groomed hair and a close-cropped beard. The ring is a lady's white gold diamond ring with a one carat diamond.
Anyone with information about the jewelry theft was asked to call the Gresham Police Department with tips at 503-618-2719.
