EUGENE, Ore. (AP) -- A Eugene, Ore., man indicted on aggravated murder charges in the death of his father and his father's domestic partner, former UO music dean Anne Dhu McLucas, has pleaded not guilty.
The Register-Guard reports that lawyers for 36-year-old Johan Stevon Gillette entered the pleas on his behalf Monday in Lane County Circuit Court.
A grand jury has accused Gillette of killing his 73-year old father, James Gillette, and the elder Gillette's domestic partner, 71-year-old McLucas, on Sept. 7.
He's also charged with misdemeanor animal abuse for causing unspecified serious injury to a Jack Russell terrier. Johan Gillette lived on the property owned by his father. His lawyers declined comment after court.
Authorities have not discussed a possible motive or said how the two victims were killed.
