MILLERSBURG, Ore. -- A small plane went off the runway upon landing and crashed into a ditch near Millersburg Thursday morning, police said.
Just after 8 a.m. a pilot was landing on his private runway when one of his brakes failed, forcing the aircraft to spin off the runway and into a nearby ditch, according to Sgt. Art Sprague of the Linn County Sheriff's Office.
The single engine Grumman Ag Cat then landed on its nose in a blackberry patch.
The plane's propeller and wings were damaged, but the pilot, 68-year-old Kent Wooldridge of Albany, was not injured.
