BAKER CITY, Ore. – OnStar helped Oregon state troopers find a Camaro worth $60,000 that was stolen from a Baker City car dealership Wednesday morning.

The Onstar safety and navigation system located the vehicle, then shared the tracking information with Union County 911 dispatchers. This helped police quickly spot the expensive sports car as it pulled onto I-84.

OnStar also disabled the engine remotely, which made it impossible for the car thief to accelerate over 30 miles an hour.

Troopers said they were able to pull the car over and the driver, identified as James Reedy (pictured, left) was arrested.
