CANBY, Ore. – A teenage passenger was killed in an alcohol-involved crash just outside of Canby Friday night, deputies said.

The crash happened at around 11 p.m. near Highway 170 and Aldercreek Lane. A bystander called 9-1-1 reporting a vehicle crashed into a power pole and knocked power lines down, said Sgt. Robert Wurpes with the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office.

The power pole was knocked down after the passenger side of the car struck it before the car came to a stop on its roof.

The 17-year-old male driver and a 15-year-old male passenger were both taken in an ambulance to the hospital.

Daniel Gonzalez, 19, was taken to the hospital where he died of his injuries.

Deputies reported the driver may have been drinking and are investigating.

UPDATE: The driver of the vehicle has been identified as Isac Cobarrubias of Canby.
