PORTLAND -- Prescription drug abuse is a huge problem especially among teens, and some local high schoolers are doing something about it.

Tomorrow is national prescription drug take-back day, so students from La Salle and Clackamas High School have been holding their own drug take back days twice a year for the last few years.

It started when students at Clackamas High School got tired of their school's negative nick-name.

“It was called the pharmacy because there was a lot of prescription drugs at parties and going into the hands of the youth in the communities,” said Clackamas High School freshman Alex Hern.

The Happy Valley Youth Council will be collecting prescription drugs tomorrow at their City Hall from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m.
