PORTLAND -- Starting at 10 p.m. Friday, Southeast McLoughlin Boulevard (HWY. 99E) will be closed from Southeast Washington Street to Southeast River Road while crews install steel girders for the new Milwaukie light rail bridge.
Only local traffic will be allowed from Southeast Park Avenue to Southeast River Road and from Southeast Washington Street to Southeast Harrison Street.
Drivers can get around the closure by using the Milwaukie Expressway. Crews hope to re-open in time for the Monday morning commute.
Crews will also be doing maintenance on the Interstate 5 bridge this weekend, which could mean up to 25 minute waits for bridge lifts overnight Saturday and Sunday.
