TILLAMOOK – Officers found the dead body of an unidentified woman on the side of Highway 6 near Tillamook Friday evening, police said.
At around 10:15 p.m., a witnesses told police that a full-size late 1980s or early 1990s pickup truck was stopped on the north shoulder of the westbound lane of the highway between milepost 18 and 19.
The witness then told police a man and woman were seen near the pickup when an eastbound commercial truck passed through the area.
About 25 minutes later, the witness called police. When troopers arrived, they found the woman’s body along the highway, said Lt. Gregg Hasting with Oregon State Police.
The woman was described as 18 to 25-years-old, 5-foot-8, weighing around 140 pounds. She had long bleach-blond hair with a layer of dark hair underneath. She was wearing a pink buttoned blouse under a camouflage long sleeve fleece jacket and short pink shorts with tan cowboy boots.
The truck was described as having a chrome-colored “headache” rack behind the rear window.
Highway 6 was closed while investigators were on scene.
