OTIS, Ore. – Heavy rain triggered a landslide in the small town of Otis, just north of Lincoln City Thursday.

The mud and debris slid right up against a home on North Overlook Loop.

An elderly woman who lives in the threatened home called for help after the debris crushed part of her porch.

Firefighters helped the woman safely get out of the home and into the care of her family.

A spokesperson with North Lincoln Fire & Rescue said it appears that the whole hillside has been slowly creeping toward homes over the years. But the last few days of rain caused it to move faster.
