REDMOND, Ore. (AP) -- The Deschutes County sheriff's office seized four dogs Saturday and cited their owner for an April 7 attack near Redmond that seriously injured a man and his dog.
The Bend Bulletin says the sheriff's office plans to refer the case to the district attorney's office.
Sheriff's Capt. Shane Nelson says the dogs' owner, Brett Hodgson, faces four counts of maintaining a dangerous dog and one count of reckless endangerment, all misdemeanors.
Efforts by The Bulletin to contact Hodgson were unsuccessful.
The dogs, Akitas, were seized as evidence and taken to an animal shelter in Redmond.
