BEND, Ore. -- Bend Police say a 44-year-old man who called them to report a burglary has been arrested in the shooting of his girlfriend.
The Bend Bulletin reported Monday that dispatchers were told a burglary was under way and the woman had been shot.
When officers arrived early Saturday morning, they reported finding 39-year-old Lisa Anne Schnittke had been wounded in the thigh.
But they say their investigation found that there was no break-in and the woman had been wounded in a struggle for the weapon.
She was treated at a local hospital and released Saturday.
Police said Anthony Joseph Pastran was accused of assault, methamphetamine possession, reckless endangerment and firearms counts.
