BEND - A Bend-area man was arrested after a traffic stop where troopers said they found 125 pounds of marijuana, and later, a large indoor grow operation.
Oregon State Police troopers stopped 35-year-old DANIEL UELMAN on Highway 97. In his car troopers said they found duffel bags containing 24 pounds of pot in his pickup.
Investigators were led to a rental home near Sunriver that had been converted to a large indoor marijuana growing operation, police said.
A search turned up 561 plants and around 100 pounds of processed pot. The total estimated value of the drugs was about $312,000. Uelman was arrested for manufacture, possession and distribution.
