HILLSBORO - Washington County Sheriff's deputies are looking for the thieves who attacked a woman while stealing a power washer.

Heather Hernandez said she heard her dog barking and went out to investigate. She said she found a man trying to take her power washer Sunday night outside her house.

She and her husband Roger run a bicycle repair shop out of their garage and figured a customer was outside.

A suspected accomplice sat in the car during the attack.

“I opened the door and said ‘May I help you?’ He grabbed me by my hair and slammed my face against the brick and tried to get inside,” she said. She said the attacker slammed her face against bricks and eventually broke her arm. “I screamed for my husband like he was here and they got scared and then left,” she said.

The suspect was described as a white male in his 20s, about 6-feet tall, weighing165 pounds, with red hair and a red beard.

“(It was) my worst fear, for any woman being home alone,” Roger Hernandez said. “Hopefully we can catch whoever did it and get some sort of justice.”
