TUALATIN, Ore. -- A 14-year-old girl told police she was able to escape after a man grabbed her outside of her Tualatin home Saturday night.

Police were called at about 9:30 p.m. to the report of a suspicious encounter in the 9500 block of Southwest 53rd Avenue, according to officer Jennifer Massey of the Tualatin Police Department.

The victim said she had been out looking for her dog when she suddenly saw a man standing in front of her. She told officers the man tugged on her shirt, touched her arms, and tried to cover her mouth with his hand, Massey said. The girl ran away and called police.

The suspect was described as a white man, about 20 years old, 6-feet tall, with a slim build. He was wearing a gray sweatshirt and blue jeans.

Anyone with information on the suspect was asked to call police at (503) 629-0111.
