TIGARD, Ore. -- A passenger who fled from a crash in Tigard was later found and pulled a gun on a officer, police said. The suspect then fled again and police have not found him.

Two drivers were involved in the crash about 6 a.m. near Watkins and 99W. The drivers were exchanging information when an officer arrived, but a passenger in one of the cars ran away.

Police learned the fleeing man may have an outstanding warrant and started a search, said Sgt. Brad Sitton. An officer found the suspect, who then pulled out and pointed a gun. The officer called for backup.

The search continued with a K-9 unit and officers came across someone they thought was the suspect, wearing a hoodie, Sitton said. But that person turned out to be a driver involved in the original crash, who had driven to the neighborhood where the search was taking place.

The fleeing suspect was not found. The case remains under investigation.
