TIGARD, Ore. -- Three residents of a Tigard home jumped from the second floor to escape a fire Monday afternoon, and the house might have contained a meth lab, investigators said.

The fire was reported just before 1 p.m. in the 10000 block of Southwest Tigard Road, said Lt. Jim Wolf of the Tigard Police Department.

Crews arrived within four minutes and said smoke and flames had engulfed the back of the home, Wolf said. All of the occupants had already escaped.

"Shortly after completing their search, firefighters received what they deemed to be credible information that the residence was associated with the use, or possible manufacturing of methamphetamine," Wolf said.

Firefighters spent about 20 minutes bringing the fire under control from the outside, Wolf said. The house was a total loss.
