BEAVERTON -- A motorcyclist suffered serious injuries when he was struck by a car early Tuesday morning.

The driver of the car left the crash scene but then returned hours later, police said.

Marc Besta, 35, was taken to Oregon Health & Science University after the 2 a.m. wreck.

He appears to have been westbound on Scholls Ferry Road near 121st when struck by an eastbound vehicle, according to police spokesman Mike Rowe.

At 4 a.m., Deandra Davis, 19, of Corvallis, came to the collision scene and said she had been driving the car that struck the motorcycle, Rowe said.

The wreck remains under investigation. No citations or arrests have been made, Rowe said.

Scholls Ferry was closed for about six hours during the investigation.
