HILLSBORO, Ore. -- Intel Corporation announced Wednesday plans to expand its Hillsboro campus, starting next year.
The expansion will include a second module attached to the development lab, as well as an office building, a manufacturing support building and a new parking structure.
"The expansion will be done to accommodate new semiconductor manufacturing technology expected to be deployed industry-wide later this decade," said Intel spokesman Bill MacKenzie.
Construction was expected to begin in 2013 and take more than two years to complete. Installation of the new equipment is scheduled to start in 2015.
