BEAVERTON – Two shoplifting suspects were arrested near the Beaverton Fred Meyer Sunday night after a security guard was threatened by one of them, armed with brass knuckles, police said.
Beaverton Police said the store officer saw a man and a woman put several items into a cart and leave the store without paying.
Officers said 21-year-old Heather Cadwell left the cart and walked away, just before 25-year-old Kenneth Garrett threatened the guard with a pair of brass knuckles. No one was hurt.
The two were stopped in a car by police nearby and arrested. Brass knuckles were found in the car, investigators said.
Garrett was charged with robbery, theft, unlawful use of a weapon and menacing. Cadwell was charged with theft.
