HILLSBORO, Ore – Deputies arrested a suspect  who hit and killed a man in a side-impact crash on Highway 219 south of Hillsboro Sunday morning.

Police arrested 28-year-old Bryan Carl Onderdonk of Tigard after he allegedly hit and killed 50-year-old Marcos Castillo of Vancouver, Wash. around 9 a.m. near Southwest Farmington Road, said Sgt. Vance Stimler with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Onderdonk was missing for several hours Sunday after he allegedly took off running from the scene of the crash. He was arrested shortly after 1 p.m. at 30266 SW Bald Peak Road in Hillsboro.

Castillo was reportedly turning from Southwest Farmington Road onto Highway 219 when he was hit by a speeding BMW driven by Onderdonk, Stimler said.

Onderdonk was taken to the Washington County Jail and charged with felony hit-and-run.

There were reportedly no passengers in either vehicle. Highway 219 was closed near milepost 5 for several hours.
