BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A teen driver fell asleep at the wheel and sheared a power pole in half on a Beaverton road Sunday morning.
Police said 18-year-old Aurora Sehorn, of Beaverton, was eastbound on SW Farmington Road, near SW 139th Way, when she went off the roadway and struck a wooden power pole.
"The impact of the collision sheared the power pole in half," said Beaverton Police Officer Mike Rowe.
Sehorn was evaluated at the scene and was not taken to a hospital. The front end of her car was significantly damaged.
SW Farmington Road was expected to be closed until at least 5 p.m. Sunday
