HILLSBORO, Ore. -- A drunken driving suspect was arrested after he crashed his 1974 Chevrolet Nova into a school bus south of Hillsboro Monday, police said.
Deputies were called just after 4 p.m. to the report of an intoxicated man "causing problems and acting erratically" at a house on Southwest Tongue Lane, according to Sgt. Bob Ray of the Washington County Sheriff's Office.
The caller said the man had continued acting strangely as he got into his Nova and drove away from the house. Moments after deputies arrived at the scene, they received the report that a car had crashed into a bus nearby.
At the crash scene deputies found that 27-year-old Kyle Getsinger, of Hillsboro, had crashed his Nova into the rear end of a school bus, Ray said. Getsinger was injured and his car was heavily damaged. He was taken to a nearby hospital. His injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
The driver and two children on the bus were not injured, Ray said. Charges were pending against Getsinger.
