BEAVERTON, Ore. -- A Beaverton man was accused of exposing himself to young children at an apartment complex pool Thursday afternoon, police said.
Officers were called at about 3:30 p.m. to the report of a man bothering children in the pool, according to Mike Rowe of the Beaverton Police Department.
The caller told police at the scene that 60-year-old David Ray Dowling had been following young children around in the pool and was exposing himself.
"According to the complainant all the children left the pool because Dowling kept following them wherever they went," Rowe said. "After the children got out Dowling also left the pool and when he did his shorts fell to his ankles."
The witness told police Dowling then went into a changing area and committed lewd acts in plain view.
Officers also spoke with one young girl who said Dowling had touched her inappropriately, and another who reported he had exposed himself. One of the girls reported that a similar event occured several weeks ago.
Dowling was jailed on charges of sex abuse, harassment and indecency.
