COLUMBUS TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) — An unemployed truck driver shot and killed his wife and their two sons before shooting himself in their rural home about 40 miles northeast of Detroit.
That's according to St. Clair County Sheriff Tim Donnellon, who identified the man as 35-year-old Phillip Parsons. Donnellon says Parsons's 34-year-old wife, Gina Parsons, was shot multiple times and the couple's sons from previous marriages, 14-year-old Sean Parsons and 14-year-old Andrew Davis, were each shot once.
Donnellon says officers went to the couple's home after a concerned relative called 911 Sunday night.
Donnellon says Phillip Parsons had been out of work for a while, but he would not say whether financial problems may have played a role. He says investigators haven't determined a motive.
