NEW YORK (AP) — A suburban New York mother of three has been arraigned on charges she grew thousands of marijuana plants worth millions of dollars.

Andrea Sanderlin entered a plea of not guilty Friday in Brooklyn federal court.

The story resembles a real-life version of the Showtime series "Weeds," which chronicled a California woman's decision to grow pot to support her family.

But prosecutors say Sanderlin's business was reality, not fiction.

Sanderlin's attorney says she should be considered innocent until proven guilty. Sanderlin was held over for a bail hearing. Her lawyer says he believes she will be released next week and that he wants to talk to prosecutors about a possible plea deal.

Authorities say the pot plants were worth $3 million on the street.
