HILLSBORO, Ore. – Detectives arrested a burglar in rural Washington County who would break into homes and steal guns and tools, deputies said.

On Wednesday, detectives searched the home of 45-year-old Kurt Dahlgren at 8880 SW River Road and found a trove of stolen items that linked him to at least two burglaries, said Sgt. Vance Stimler with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

Dahlgren reportedly knew the people he burglarized, and in one case, he was paid to work at the victim’s house, Stimler said.

Dahlgren allegedly stole more than 100 items from two victims, including 13 firearms. All the guns have been located, Stimler said.

Dahlgren was charged with aggravated theft and burglary, and was taken to the Washington County Jail and held on $50,000 bail.

Detectives believe there may be more victims and are asking anyone with information to call deputies at 503-846-2500.
