ESTACADA, Ore. -- The body of a Portland man lost while tubing Thursday night on the Clackamas River was found Friday, officials said.
A friend called 911 to report that 23-year-old Fernando "Ivan" Ortega Becerra had gone missing just upriver from Carver Park at about 8:40 p.m., according to Sgt. Adam Phillips of the Clackamas County Sheriff's Office.
Searchers found a body about 600 feet downstream Friday afternoon, officials said.
Becerra had last been seen swimming toward his inner tube, as the rest of his group moved upstream and lost sight of him during a float from Barton Park to Carver Park.
This was the first Clackamas River rescue effort of the summer, Phillips told KGW.
