SALEM -- Salem police are looking for a man accused of stealing guns from a house before carjacking an SUV and robbing a credit union at gunpoint.
A home in the 4600 block of Southeast 32nd Avenue was burglarized on June 13 or 14 and among the stolen items were several guns, said Lt. Steve Birr of the Salem Police Department.
Then in the early morning hours of June 15 a man used one of the guns to carjack an SUV at Lancaster Drive and Sunnyview Road NE, Birr said.
On July 5, a Salem credit union was robbed and the suspect abandonded a vehicle at the scene, which was later found to be the stolen SUV.
The suspect in the case was identified as 33-year-old Ricky Scott Exe, Jr. He was described as 6-foot-1, with a thin build. He has brown eyes and hair.
Exe has an extensive criminal histroy and should be considered armed and dangerous, Birr said. Anyone who knows where he is or has information about these crimes was asked to call 911.
