REDMOND, Ore. (AP) -- In May, Kyle Reed of Redmond was knocked unconscious when he picked up a piece of irrigation pipe, and it touched a power line.
Medical personnel thought he'd suffer brain damage even if he survived. The former Redmond High School athlete did better.
A few days after getting jolted on a hunting trip with two friends, he woke up. Despite a foggy first month, he recovered well enough to go to college in the fall at Northern Arizona University.
Doctors say his 6-foot-3, 220-pound size helped. Friends and family say he's back to normal now, although he still doesn't remember the accident.
The Bend Bulletin reports (http://bit.ly/TpixSM ) he was back over Christmas break and hanging out with two buddies who helped keep him alive on the hunting outing.
