PORTLAND -- The Portland-based sketch comedy "Portlandia" was nominated for two Emmy awards Thursday.
"Portlandia" was nominated in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series and Outstanding Directing for a Variety Series categories.
Independent Film Channel president Jennifer Caserta released a statement Thursday after hearing the news.
“We are honored by these nominations and so proud to be the home of Portlandia, one of the most unique comedies on television and a show that has helped define and establish IFC’s comedic sensibility,” she said.
