FLORENCE, Ore. – A man was seriously injured after he was hit by an SUV on Highway 101 south of Florence Saturday evening.

Just before 9 p.m., 55-year-old Nancy Pearson of Florence was driving on the highway when 46-year-old Jeffrey Miller of Florence ran out in front of her GMC Envoy, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police.

Pearson told police she was unable to avoid hitting him. Miller was taken to Sacred Heart Medical Center at RiverBend with serious injuries.
