SALEM – A man died after a collision west of Salem along Highway 22 Tuesday, police said.

A commercial truck pulling a flatbed trailer was moving across the westbound lanes of Highway 22 to proceed eastbound when a pickup truck hit the back of it, according to Oregon State Police.

The driver of the pickup was identified Wednesday as James Miller, 63, of Dallas, Ore.

He was taken to Salem Hospital where was later pronounced dead.

The driver of the semi-truck was not injured.
