WOODBURN, Ore. – The driver of a truck involved in a three-vehicle accident on June 1 in Woodburn died July 13, police said. The passenger in the truck died June 3.

Just before 5 p.m. on June 1, Teddy Gitts, 59, was driving south on South Meridian Road when he was hit on the driver’s side by a pickup as he crossed Highway 211, said Lt. Gregg Hastings with Oregon State Police. He died Saturday, Hastings said.

Gitts' passenger, Deborah Gitts, was taken to the hospital by LifeFlight where she died June 3, Hastings said.

The driver of the pickup was 56-year-old Lennis Robinson of Molalla, Hastings said.

Gitts’ car then spun into the eastbound lane and collided with a pickup driven by 62-year-old John Gubel of Keizer.

A dog in their car was ejected and found dead at the scene.
