EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — A man who fatally shot a drug robber a year ago at his home in Eugene admitted in court Wednesday that he continued to use and sell heroin.

Tyler Jon Norman pleaded guilty to felony counts of heroin possession and delivery for three incidents last spring when police caught him with the drug.

The Register-Guard reports (http://bit.ly/VJOJos ) Lane County Circuit Judge Josephine Mooney gave him one last chance to avoid prison by approving a plea agreement that calls for up to 20 days in jail. Another drug conviction would send the 28-year-old to prison for a year-and-a-half.

Norman's lawyer says he's participating in drug-treatment programs and working two part-time jobs.

Norman was not prosecuted for last year's fatal shooting because it was self-defense.
