EUGENE, Ore. (AP) — Eugene, Ore., police have questioned two teenage boys after a school resource officer heard from a teacher that the students might be planning to bring guns to school later this week.

The Register-Guard newspaper reports (http://is.gd/O9Pkxe ) that officers talked to the Churchill High School students at their respective homes Monday afternoon. The two did not attend school Monday.

Lt. Doug Mozan says the investigation continues but he doesn't think either boy has immediate access to firearms. Mozan says it's doubtful the pair had planned to arm themselves before coming to school this Friday.

In his words, "The more we look into this, the more it's looking as if it's unfounded."
