Man arrested for Broadway Toyota vandalism during Thursday's riot

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police on Tuesday arrested a man wanted in connection with the destruction of property during last Thursday's protest and riot in downtown Portland.

Mateen Abdul Shaheed, 20, faces six counts of first-degree criminal mischief. Police said he was involved in numerous acts of vandalism, including causing a power outage and damaging vehicles at Broadway Toyota.

Police said they received an "overwhelming number of tips" from community members in their search for Shaheed.

Detectives were assisted by U.S. Marshals and the U.S. Forest Service.
