Man arrested for DUII in Bethany after crashing into house

BETHANY, Ore. - A man crashed his car into a house Tuesday night in the community of Bethany, north of Beaverton.

No one was hurt in the incident, but the man was arrested for DUII and other charges.

At about 6:38 p.m., sheriff's Deputies responded to the 5100 block of N.W. Millstone Way after a citizen called 911 to report the crash.

Deputies arrested the driver of the car, 35-year-old James Mauro of Cedar Hills, for DUII and related charges.

Police determined that Mauro was traveling west on N.W. Holcomb Drive at a high rate of speed. He attempted to turn north on N.W. Millstone Way, but was unable to make the turn and veered into the yard of the house on the corner.

The car barely struck the house, but a window was broken in the crash.

The residents of the house were home at the time, but were not hurt. Neither was Mauro, who was alone in his car.

Mauro was booked into the Washington County Jail on charges of Driving Under the Influence of Intoxicants, Reckless Driving, and Criminal Mischief in the Second Degree.
