Winter Storm Warning canceled for Cascades

Snowy travel over Cascades

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Heavy showers continued in Portland Monday as a Winter Storm Warning was in effect for the Cascades.

The winter storm warning was canceled Monday afternoon. KGW Chief Meteorologist Matt Zaffino said the week would bring plenty of snowfall to the Cascades.

The Portland metro area will see a chance for sunshine on Tuesday, but it will be short-lived as the month draws to a wet close, said KGW Meteorologist Chris McGinness.

"We've seen more than 6 1/2 inches of rain this month in Portland, a good chunk of that falling in the last five days," McGinness said. "It looks like we'll see on and off rain in the extended forecast, on Wednesday and possibly again this upcoming weekend."
