Police seek vehicle's owner after hit-and-run kills I-5 pedestrian

Police look for driver in hit-and-run

WOODBURN, Ore. -- A pedestrian was struck and killed Tuesday morning on I-5 northbound just south of Woodburn, according to the Oregon State Police.

Troopers were dispatched about 4 a.m. to a report of a person laying in the median. Emergency crews arrived and found Delbert E. Cooper, 57, dead.

Police located the vehicle after receiving a tip. They are looking for the owner, Juan Enrique Guzman-Rodriguez, 45, of Salem.

Troopers ask the public's assistance in finding Guzman-Rodriguez. Also, some motorists may have stopped and left the scene. Anyone with information should call 503-375-3555.
