Pursuit in Washington County leads to arrest and K9 bite

CORNELIUS, Ore.-- Washington County Sheriff's Office deputies arrested a man after he damaged his ex-girlfriend's car and fled from police.

At 7:44 p.m., a Washington County deputy was flagged down by a woman who said her ex-boyfriend had just damaged her car and threatened her. As the deputy was talking to her, the suspect drove by in a black 1997 Acura. The deputy followed after the Acura, driven by 33-year-old Daniel J. Lozano of Forest Grove.

After a short chase, officers were able to stop Lozano by using the PIT maneuver. Once stopped, Mr. Lozano refused commands to exit the car and a K9 unit was used, biting Mr. Lozano. He was taken to the hospital where he was treated and released.

Lozano is being held in the Washington County Jail on charges of Attempt to Elude, Reckless Endangering, Resisting Arrest, Menacing, Disorderly Conduct, Criminal Mischief and Reckless Driving.
