JOSEPH, Ore. (AP) -- The state Department of Fish and Wildlife says a wildlife biologist videotaped a pack of at least 10 gray wolves on Forest Service land in Eastern Oregon.
The agency says the pack is the largest yet confirmed in Oregon since wolves began returning to the state in the late 1990s.
ODFW biologist Pat Matthews videotaped the wolf pack east of Joseph on Nov. 12. Matthews saw the wolves across a canyon at a distance of at least several hundred yards.

I just got back from Africa where they say lions may be extinct within twenty years as the ranchers are shooting and killing them to save livestock. How can we expect others to protect their large preditors when we are not willing to do the same. The wolves belong here, cattle and sheep do not.

How many pets can a pack of wolfs eat a day?? Your Dog cats and Chicken cows sheep are all going to Be eaten.. Note wolves are not vegetarian. This will impact the cost of farming thus the cost of Food for may Oregonians.

Hey alittlebird .....With that logic people do not belong here so you need to go back to where you were your ancestors lived. Have you all lost site of reality.

In Idaho the wolves now number near 1000. 220 kill tags have been issued. This will not even keep pace with their litters of puppies. Meanwhile, while all the ignorant city folk get shivers up their legs from watching the most dangerous four legged predator on the continent criss cross rural Oregon killing everything in their path, a crisis is in the development. And to the less educated and wildly ignorant urban population that says that wolves belong here, you should come to learn this fact : The wolves that were introduced to Idaho and now hunt in Oregon were brought here from Canada. THEY ARE NOT WOLVES THAT ARE NOT NATIVE TO IDAHO OR OREGON. They are more vicious and have actually killed all the native wolves. These Canadian wolves kill for sport. They do NOT kill simply to eat. Deer and elk herds in Idaho are waning. Oregon is next. Wise up people, before it's too late.
