Shots fired at Vancouver police, man arrested

VANCOUVER, Wash. — Police in Vancouver, Washington, say a man was arrested after he fired a gun at officers from inside an apartment.

An officer was flagged down at about 12:14 a.m. Thursday by a person who said people were being held against their will by a man with a gun in an apartment on East Fourth Plain Blvd.

Patrol officers approached the apartment and someone fired at least one shot at the police.

A SWAT team was called in and they took the suspect, identified by police as 22-year-old Cody Burris, into custody. He was booked into the Clark County Jail on multiple counts of first-degree assault.

Police say no one else was found in the apartment. No one was injured in the incident.
