Clark College students concerned about sex offender in class

VANCOUVER, Wash. -- Students at Clark College in Vancouver are on edge after finding out a level three sex offender is enrolled in classes that start Monday.

"I've heard about this at colleges," said student Cassidy Morris. "But never knew it happened."

"It's really scary," added student Hailey Miracle.

Randy Allen has been convicted of three separate sex crimes in the last 15 years. He has served his time and wants to go to college.

A Clark College spokesman said the college is required by law to provide an education to sex offenders who meet the admission requirements. The college is also required to notify it students if an offender will be on campus.

"We're very dedicated to make sure we provide a safe learning environment," said Chief Information Officer Chato Hazelbaker.  "We can make some adjustments if needed if a student is concerned about an individual."

Our KGW crew bumped into Allen on campus. He said he has paid his debt to society and he is no longer a threat.
