Tualatin police hand out turkeys instead of tickets

TUALATIN, Ore. – Tualatin police officers on Tuesday exemplified the giving spirit of the holiday season.

Instead of handing out tickets to drivers pulled over for minor violations, officers gave them “a turkey and a smile.”

Tualatin police spokeswoman Jennifer Massey said one driver planned on cooking and serving the turkey she already bought to the homeless. But thanks thanks to Tualatin police, she’ll now have a turkey to give her family this Thanksgiving.

Donations from the Tualatin Community Police Foundation made the turkey giveaway possible.
