PORTLAND, Ore. -- If you want to go see Bruce Springsteen speak at Powell's Books on Oct. 4, you will have to shell out a little bit more than the original ticket price.
Powell's City of Books sold a limited number of tickets to Springsteen's appearance for his "Born to Run" book tour for $32.50 - a little spendy for a literary event, but it is The Boss.
Those tickets were quickly snapped up. Some fans, however, were shocked to see them turn up on StubHub with more than a 1,000-percent price increase.
Thirty tickets are now available but the cheapest ticket as of Friday afternoon was $399.
If you thought that was expensive, try seeing Springsteen in Seattle. There are just three tickets available to that event at The Elliot Bay Book Company, with the cheapest priced at $1,250.
The price hike isn't sitting well with some fans. One person told KGW they won't go to Powell's anymore because of the issue.
Powell's has not yet responded to a request for comment.
