Two arrested in connection with fatal shooting near Portland State University

A man was found dead on the Portland State University campus early Tuesday after reports of a shooting.

PORTLAND, Ore. -- Two men have been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting near the Portland State University campus on Nov. 7.

Nicholas L. Hannan, 19, and David Brown, 26, were booked in the Multnomah County Jail following the shooting. Brown was arrested shortly after the shooting and charged with assault. Hannan went to a hospital after the shooting and was taken into custody on Thursday when he was released. Hannan was charged with murder.

The fatal shooting of 21-year-old Diego Tejeda-Manzo was reported just after 1 a.m. on Nov. 7.  Witnesses told officers they heard a fight before the shooting. When Portland police and PSU public safety officers arrived, they found Tejeda-Manzo wounded in front of the Subway at 1717 SWt Park Ave. Officers provided aid but Tejeda-Manzo was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Oregon State Medical Examiner said Tejeda-Manzo died as a result of homicidal violence from a gunshot wound.
