PORTLAND -- A Portland police gang enforcement detective arrested a 22-year-old man accused of taking his ex-girlfriend's pet dog, and the pet was safely recovered Friday.
On Friday Portland's Gang Enforcement Team safely recovered the Pomeranian named G-Diddy after several tips came in.
Officers said a person who wished to remain anonymous gave G-Diddy to the police. The dog has been reunited with her family.
The victim told police that last Saturday Jeray Jessie, 22, broke into her Southwest Portland house and took several items of her personal property and her pet.
Detectives found Jessie at a hospital where he was being treated for a gunshot wound, but refusing to cooperate with officers investigating the shooting.
He was arrested Thursday on burglary and theft charges.
Anyone with information on the burglary, shooting should contact Detective Brad Clifton at (503) 823-2087.
